Meggitt Football Competition

The Meggitt Football Competition this year raised money for Diabetes UK. The compeition has been run by Madhan Lal Jassal at the Alan Higgs Centre on Allard Way for the last 10 years. Every year the tournament raises money for charity.
There were 57 games with 20 teams from local companies such as JLR, Barclays, Morrisons, Fujitsu, Coventry City Council, Meggitt, Severn Trent Water and George (at Asda) to name but a few. The games lead to thref ﬁnal games, all of which were attended by members of the Diabetes UK Coventry Group to show their appreciation for the funds being raised. The Benevolent Trophy Final was between Jaguar Green Rovers and Inter JLR. Winners were Jaguar Green Rovers. All presentations were made by Siobhan Clifford, Regional Fundraising Manager from Diabetes UK Walsall.
The next ﬁnal was the Championship Trophy Final played between Barclays FC and Jaguar Green Rovers. This was won by Barclays FC.
The ﬁnal ﬁnal was played between Jaguar Green Rovers and Barclays FC, a re-run of the Championship ﬁnal and a chance for revenge with several players from both teams either returning or absent. This match was a bit one sided with Jaguar Green Rovers winning 7:1.
