December meeting

The next meeting of the Coventry Diabetes UK Group is being held on the 14th December 2015 from 7.30-9pm at the Salvation Army, Upper Well Street, Coventry.

It's that time of year again when everyone is running around getting gifts for loved ones. The kitchen cupboards start to bulge with goodies and chocolate. As this is a time of indulgence and fun, why not pop in for a mince pie and a chat and take the weight off your feet?

Our guest speaker for this meeting will be one of our finest independent pharmacists. Vishal Mashru BSc, MRPharms graduated from Nottingham University in 2010 with a pharmacy degree and has worked for an independent community pharmacy, Boots the Chemist and is currently working for a large independent chain in the West Midlands. He is currently based at the pharmacy on Green Lane. Vishal is also a member of Coventry Local Pharmaceutical Committee which represents the pharmacy contractors across Coventry, and demonstrates pharmacy practice at Nottingham University to improve the next generation of pharmacists. When he has any spare time after doing all this he is undertaking flying lessons to gain his pilot's license. Vishal has very kindly offered to answer any questions you have concerning your medication.

As always we have the raffle to raise funds for the group so please feel free to bring along a gift to donate. We are also looking for new committee members. Having diabetes is not a requirement of being a comittee member so if you would like to get more involved in the group, please get in touch. There is no membership commitment, everybody is welcome to drop in for a warm and friendly chat, so why not pop along and make new friends?
