April Newsletter

Photo taken at the Sikh Union Vaisakhi Sports day at War Memorial Park on 30th April. We were there to raise awareness of Diabetes within the South Asian Community.  In the photo are Steve Chetwynd (L) Alison Currie (R) and in the middle Alison Flynn form the Coventry CCG.

In the Community

We were asked at the Tesco at Walsgrave Fundraiser at the beginning of March. A big Thank You to Steve and Roger for doing this one. They spoke to 37 shoppers and gave out loads of information. The total raised for Tesco was £364.44 with our tin benefiting to the tune of £48. Tesco are running another fundraiser in May if anyone would like to help out. We have been asked to give a talk at the Muslim Resource Centre on Red Lane at the end of March. It was also suggested that we reach out to Universities to try to support the students who are struggling with being away from home and coping alone.

Fundraising

We have been granted our council permit for our bucket collection in Coventry on 10th June. As always we are looking for volunteers to shake a bucket for a couple of hours, or help man the main stand. If you would like to help, please contact Alison.
